Darbster is a plant-based bistro dedicated to provide vegan and vegetarian options without sacrificing the creativity and flavors of the dishes. The restaurant was named after the owner's 17-year old poodle. This influence is definitely seen in the restaurant's dog friendly patio. The atmosphere of the restaurant is to be a reprieve from the outside world with it's large open windows and beautiful ocean views.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Friday from 5 pm to 10 pm during the weekdays and during the weekdays the hours are broken up during the weekends. For Saturday the hours are from 10:30 am to 3 pm and then from 5 pm to 10 pm. The hours are similar for Sunday as well, but the restaurant closes at 9 pm instead of 10 pm.
Their dinner menu provides a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Their Starters include palm cakes, mushroom cheeze bites, cheeze plate, nachos, beet tartare, wings, pork or Italian sausage sliders (plant based), and appetizer sampler. Their salads include house, caesar, pear & gorgonzola, baby kale peanut salad, and Greek Salad. The actual entrees include Barley Rissotto, Chik'n Fettuccini Alfredo, Eggplant Scallops, Meat Lasagna, Parmigiana and Wellington. They have a living food or Raw section that includes raw nachos, raw avocado toast, bacon cheeze burger, zucchini pasta, and tuna club. Their sandwiches/wraps include chick'n parmigiana, southwestern burrito, B.L.T., black & bleu burger, and buffalo wrap. A variety of these dishes are actually gluten free as well so this place is perfect for those with those dietary restrictions.
For those wanting a truly fresh bite to eat, Darbster is a must-visit. Even for non-vegans and vegetarians it is a truly refreshing experience. Its beautiful views are complimented by vegetables, fruits, and legumes prepared in innovative fashions. It truly is one of the best bites to eat in Florida.
